Cho's macre... when will American society learn to accept others?

I believe Cho killed 32 people because he felt rejected and full of hate. These types of killings will continue unless there is awareness cles in schools and on college campuses to help students become tolerant and accepting of others not like themselves. Cho was short in stature, probably had some communication difficulties in expressing his feelings, and had a troubled family background where his family financially struggled. We have, in America, wrongful expectations of people to be tall, thin, wealthy, and fit into a "social box" we have mentally constructed in our minds.. a box made from the media, the news broadcasting channels, and dominant religious groups (i.e. Xtianity). If we encounter someone "not" like us... or who does not meet our perfect social expectations.. many of us choose to ALIENATE, MAKE FUN OF, HARR, TEASE, OSTRACIZE, OR EVEN HAZE the persons who are different. I believe this lack of tolerance for others is what triggers intense rage & killing sprees.

Is this really not okay to wear to cl?

I'm a student at UT austin (and a girl). Just so that's clear. So lately, since midterms are in full swing right now, I have been logging quite a few late nights studying. And anyone who does that knows how hard it is to get up the next morning. So obviously, my 1 hour "getting ready" period is tempting to skip on mornings when I've only gotten 3 hours of sleep. So what I have done alot in the past 2 weeks is just lay in bed until about 15-20 minutes before my cl starts, then get up and just throw some clothes on and walk to cl. Anyway, I sleep naked, and what I usually do is just throw on some sweatpants and a hoodie with nothing underneath. I really don't see a need to put anything on underneath because they cover your whole body, they are comfortable on the inside, and they're thick and baggy so you can't even tell I'm naked underneath. But anyway, today I came back to my room after cl and discarded the hoodie and pants and went straight back to bed, and my roommate was like "did you go to cl like that?", and I was like "yeah". and then she gave me some weird look and was like "whatever". is she just being a *****, or am I really doing something wrong here?

Dodge not startin for me?

i blow out the transmision. then i got home a drove it up on the ramps it still ran. i put the new trasmission in i get in it to start it and it will not start so then i changed to cam shft positioning sencer and the plugs and wires distibiter cap on acoil and now i am getting spark and it cranks fine . so then i thought it was the ecu or pcm the computer and now it sounds like it wants to start but it just will not. it has good compresstion and ever thing is good i just cant figer it out please help

Delicious kitty litter?

I hope someone can help me out here.......My dog has recently learned how to climb the gate that leads to the bathroom that we keep the cat litter in. He now drags cat poo into the adjacent bedroom and munches on it. How the heck do we keep him out of there or discourage him from eating the litter? We can't move the litterboxes or keep them up higher (the dog can also climb the toilet next to the box to get up on the counter), this is the only place they can be. We thought about spraying the litter with green apple spray, but the cats would get it on their paws and would then refuse to clean themselves. We have one Clevercat litterbox, but one of the cats will only use the hooded, front-entry box. The dog only does it when nobody is home, so we can't catch him in the act. HELP! I'm SO tired of cleaning up cat poo :(

Since moving to Sioux City (a small agricultural and retail based city in western iowa with a pop about 80000) I have noticed there is a lot of socio-economic tensions between cles. The economy here is based on agriculture, medical, retail, and restraunts. The tension is mostly between the middle cl (both upper and lower) and working cl. Almost to the point of hatred on both ends. I have never seen been exposed to something like this. I grew up in a working cl family in Chicago and we did have this type of socio-economic tensions, at least not in my neighborhood. In Chicago, it was usually racial or cultural tensions, not cl. Why is there so much cl prejudice in Sioux City?

Last night my battery light came on for no apparent reason while i was driving and then my power steering stopped working. Also today driving home the battery light was still on, it stayed near the bottom of the gauge and it completly died, my radio went off after crackling for a short time then my ABS light came on and my power steering still wasnt working. When i got home i shut the car off and it would not start again until i jumped it but the battery wont charge back up. The belt feels loose so I was thinking it might be that but im unsure.. please help!

Cracked tennis raquet, possible fix?

Okay, so I have a prince hybrid sharapova (something like that) anyways, I had a bipolar meltdown and chucked it.. So, the top part, where the plastic cover to protect is it, broke partially but is still held on by the other half. Underneath that, the raquet metal frame cracked and is dented inward, but only the "outerframe" its a thick frame, and i believe it is hollow inside, and it is only cracked on the outermost part. I'm positive i can't fix the metal, but can i fix the plastic covering? Will the cracked metal effect my game?

Been prescribed Temazepam and I'm really not sure!?

I have been prescribed these tablets for a week, but im too scared to take them. I have suffered with insomnia and waking up 2-3 times nightly for the past 2-3 years. Recently, I have now noticed that i actually stop breathing in the seconds before I fall asleep and it rouses me with a panic attack. I went to doctors finally, mostly concerned with my breathing issue & when they found out i had been suffereing with bad sleep for this long, they said the first thing to do is to try and get me to sleep through the night, before they tackle my breathing problem. However, after getting my prescription & reading the leaflet, it says NOT to take them if you have sleep apneoa (when you stop breathing for short periods during the night). My condition i think is called Sleep disordered breathing (where you stop breathing AS you fall asleep), but now I am worried that the tablets will relax my respiritory muscles even more when falling asleep & then I REALLY won't be able to breathe!! Please help

I've been married for 15 years and he still wants it all the time. And I mean ALL the time. I work full time and take care of my child full time. I pay the bills and worried about how to make ends meet. Clean house. And he wonders why I'm tired all the time. He says he needs it and I don't. I love him, but I think if I had a husband to help me with things I would want to more. I lost 2 children and had many surgeries for endometrosis and cysts. I had to have a hysterectomy about 8 years ago. I don't even think it's about being together, I think he's just addicted to . Whether I'm there or not he's always taking care of himself. I think he has a problem and he just can't understand why I don't want to all the time. Sometimes I think it's hard to think about him that way when he acts like my child. He's a big kid. Good question and matchup here. Sanchez moves up in weight and I don't think that it would have been a problem for him really. Sanchez had an iron jaw, superb boxing skills and ring generalship against the defensive minded and elusive Whitaker. The one thing that Whitaker would not be able to do to Sanchez is frustrate him as Sanchez was always stoic and poised in the ring. I believe it would be a relatively close fight, but Sanchez weould turn it on in the latter rounds and win a close but unanimous decision.

How do you know your outboard motor is pumping water properly.?

Its a 1975 40hp Evinrude outboard. I have a 89 15hp evinrude and i can see it circulating water and coming out through the spout on the bottom on the motor casing. However the 75 doesn't have the same spout and im not sure where it comes out or if it is even supouse to. I have experiance with newer motors but i haven't dealt with older motors. Problem playing DVD's on my laptop?

When I put in a DVD it says WMP cannot play this DVD video. You might need to change your display setting by lowing the color and screen resolution. I shouldn't have to do this because it has worked fine before. Anyway, I tried that and nothing. I tried uninstalling the CD/DVD drive and nothing. I reinstalled WMP and nothing. I can't play any DVD's or even any videos that are already on my computer. Could it be something with the video card or codecs? I'm not sure what else to do. Any answers would be greatly apprciated.

Removing an old subfloor in a 1940's home?

I am in the process of renovating a 1940's duplex. The sub-floor in the bathroom has some rot. The problem being there are multiple layers of flooring. I am down to the original 40's flooring and want to remove all of it to get a good look at the sub-floor. The rot is easy to get out but the rest is proving a bit challenging. Over the sub-floor there is tongue and groove and after several hours I have about 1/4 of it out. Any suggestion on getting it up besides brute force? I was thinking of taking a circular saw and scoring though all the tongue and grove. Suggestions?????

Basketball games never get all the right ratings. How do you get 101 if each category goes up to 99? Anyways, the highest rating should be 95 because 100 means perfect and no player is perfect. Some off ratings I noticed is Posey being an 84, higher than R. Jefferson, Prince, and many other good sfs (seriously a bench player being better than starters?). Butler seems a little too high, probably should be high 80s. I don't see too much of a problem with the sg ratings. Don't go by what is or isn't a good team by what others say, in my opinion. It's all about using the pokemon you like the most. As far as fighting goes, this team won't be very successful in an OU battle, but it seems formiddable for UU. You do have somewhat of a weakness to ground type moves, but a switch to aerodactyl or gyrados in such situations would resolve that problem. I would not suggest any two-move attacks such as fly, dive, etc. I'm not very experienced in competitive pokemon battling, but I know the basics. Don't take what I've said to be completely valid, therefore. Good luck!

When my neck is in an up-right position there are no visible bumps at all, but when I tilt my head to the side and feel around my neck I notice a very slight bulging lump that feels hard and stationary. It’s barely visible, but I’m still concerned that it could be a lymph node that’s swollen. It’s only on one side of my neck, and it feels like a hard muscle. The bulge is located midway between my jaw and collar bone. What to swollen lymph nodes generally look and feel like? The reason I’m concerned is because I just had a manicure done a week ago, and although I didn’t bleed during or after, I had a minor cut very close to the cuticle on one of my fingers prior to that. I’m also finding that I get hot at night, and I’ve had a sore throat that comes and goes for two weeks now. Could I have HIV? I know I need to wait three months to get tested, but I’m still worried.

How do I move a huge pile of shingles into bags effectively.?

Golden ball cactus question?

I have a golden ball cactus. I did something to it that made it go brown near the top. It was a pretty big brown mark and I'm pretty sure that that part is dead. It's about 1 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inches tall. It is also near the top of the cactus. Now, at the top, there are all of this white fluffy stuff and it could be a flower. Will this mark affect how the cactus grows andis the cactus dead even though most of it is green with the small yellow spike things. Just in case, I got this at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix and live in the Western suberbs of Chicago.

Frozen beef--how old is too old?

Well im a 17 year old boy who just finished 11th grade. My BFFL is Bob<3 and he comes over to play ps3 with me. my little brother, and my grandpa. Why is my mom acting like this?

A lot of times, my mom will say something really hurtful to me in a -- in her words -- "joking way", like when she says that I'm probably doing badly in history because I'm dumb, or that I'm getting fat around the waist, or other things that are offensive to me. Then, I'll tell her that it offends me, and I'll rant on about how she's being really offensive. Then, she says, "Just stop. I don't want to be attacked by my kids today." Then I'll inform her that if she says something mean or offensive to me, that me being angry with her is inevitable. She doesn't understand that actions have consequences. Also, we used to have a really weird sense of humor. Like, I'll ask, "what can I have for dessert?" and she'll suggest fruit, and then, in our way of joking with each other, say, "Yeah, like I *really* want fruit for dessert." Well, that happened today, and after I said that, she sighed, and said, "Honey, *please* just stop being mean to me!" We just got back from vacation in Mexico, where the entire time she was hounding me and my older sister, and her boyfriend, and telling us to go get something, or to do something while she lounged around at the beach, and pestering us to do things we wanted to, and just getting on our nerves, and we told her we didn't like it when she was doing this. She also said she didn't like it that we weren't appreciative to her about bringing us to Mexico, when every day --- literally, every day, maybe even every hour --- we were thanking her. Rrrrrgh! It's so aggravating! Why is she acting like this? I can't talk to her, because she'll immediately begin saying that she doesn't want to be attacked, when we are just speaking our feelings. Raising 3 kids with severe depression?

I have three kids, ages 3, 22 months, and 4 months. I love my kids to death, but am, I believe, clinically depressed. I've never had a diagnosis, but have had feelings of worthlessness, sadness, and a complete disinterest in activities since high school. I am not suicidal, but will periodically find myself fantasizing about my own death. (not ual fantasizing, mind you) It's not a desire to kill myself, almost more of a curiosity. My husband works a lot, and isn't exactly supportive when he is home. I have always had a hard time keeping things organized, but it has gotten to the point where it is so cluttered and sometimes unsanitary at our house with dishes piling up and soiled laundry sitting in baskets for days. The bills frequently don't get paid on time, and we're wasting money on late fees. I know this isn't a healthy environment for my children, and that just makes me feel worse! While I'm not exactly sad all the time, I'm never happy. I fake it for my kids' sakes, but I want to feel real happiness again! That's not to say I don't enjoy my kids ever; I do. Its just a removed kind of joy. Almost like you would watching someone else's kids do something cute, or achieve something for the first time. Like, "awww...that's so awesome for them!" Only I'm the one its happening to, and I just don't feel it that deeply! I would never leave my kids, don't have any desire to. I just want to feel normal! I don't even know if I have ever been truly happy. I don't have insurance, so counseling or meds will be hard to come by. I don't know what to do, but I'm at my breaking point. I have to do something, or I'm terrified my kids will be forever affected in a very negative way. I don't want them growing up to hate me, or to be like me! Help!

I know that this may sound trite, but under the surface, this is like day and night. Is it wrong for an adult to remind me my parents abandoned me and forgot that I even exist?

I had to move in with my grandfather 4 years ago. I lived half way across the country with my dad, but then he went overseas because he's in the Air Force, so I moved in with my mom, but then she met a guy and ran off with him. 17 day old baby in a bouncer?

i never had a bouncer, but my sister in law has her baby's sleep in those when they first come home for a few weeks. she says they all have liked it better (4 boys including a one month old) none of her children have like having to sleep flat. makes sense with having been crammed up for nine months. and the vibration is actually soothing. it's made to simulate the vibrations of the mothers womb. so she is not too young, it's actually probably more comforting the younger they are, but your wife is probably emotional, and if she feels that strongly about it, just let it go. it won't hurt the baby either way-but it will hurt your marriage if you challenge her! :) just approach it at a latter date, or when your wife isn't home or sleeping. (just be sure to turn it off before she gets home or wakes up!) good luck!

My fiance's deployment has been difficult for me. I will never understand what he goes though daily, but it doesn't minimize my pain and loneliness, nor the amount of time I spend worrying about him. I have tried to be upbeat & act as though all is good, but: Last night we spoke via instant messenger, & I finally admitted to him I have become depressed over the past 9 months that he's been gone. SHOULD I HAVE CONTINUED TO HIDE IT FROM HIM UNTIL HE CAME HOME? His term is up March 19th (in 2 days!), yet his tour is over sometime in May. He made the decision not to re-enlist in the military because of "his family and his fiance(me)". I know though, that he doesn't want to leave the military. So I told him that I love him so much that I would understand if he were to re-enlist. I'd rather live a life where we go to bed together every night, and at least be able to confide in each other on a regular basis, but I'm willing to let him go in order for him to continue this life he started before I came along; to do the one thing in the world he feels he's good at. I WANT TO MARRY HIM, but I'm not sure if I can handle another deployment, JUST BEING HONEST. I am proud of him, I support him and his sacrifices, and for those I am grateful. He won't come right out and tell me he's torn, but I know it. Are there any words I can say that would comfort him? From a military standpoint, what does he need from me? I just want to make this deployment easier for him, we'll deal with the rest when he comes home.

i had a number of red spots on my tattoos due to ingrown hair. The hair follicle is stucked inside the red spots on my skin and i doubt they are growing out. I am a twin myself and the only thing that I worry about with the names that you chose is that Aurora sounds a bit more elegant (and princess-like) than Hadley. I'm not saying you should give them both boring names or anything, but you don't want them to have such different names that one could feel a bit less special than the other. I am a 21 year old male, (22 next month). I am an active person, I play gaelic football (Ireland) and i enjoy swimming in the sea and cycling. I am 6 foot tall and about 14 stone. Why has he come back?

A few months ago I started a relationship with a guy who I work with, at the time it started he said that it would just be a fling and I agreed. I fell in love with him but he didn't feel the same way he ended it saying that it was a bit of fun and the fun had ended. I was devasted. Since then I have been diagnosed with cancer and he has been very supportive, taking me to hospital etc. The ual side of the relationship has started again, but no going out together, it is merely ual. Comments on a poem please?

I read your comments first, then your poem. I don't know why people think that poetry must conform to certain set styles. If you don't want to rhyme or want to make your stanzas 3 lines then 10 lines than 2 lines, it's your poem you write it how you want to. Free verse is a style and most people write in this style. I know I do. My biggest gripe is that you use a few commas but no periods. Why does everyone forget to use punctuation in poetry? Run on sentences make for difficult reading. Your flow get all disrupted and then you get comments like I saw. The only thing abut the way you have your stanzas that I don't like is that in the fourth and 8th stanzas you have a couple of really long lines mixed into short lines. If you could break those lines up, yes the stanza will be longer, it would have a better look to the poem. Your meaning and flow would be barely affected. I don't get the cliched feel when I read this. I like the imagery that you chose to use. I really like the stanza about getting lost in space. Make these few changes and I think you will like the result.

How soon can pregnancy be detected with a HPT?

I don't have regular periods so I can't use my last period as an indicator. My doctor told me I'm 8 weeks pregnancy and conceived around January 26th. I also had two ultrasounds in the last two weeks that showed I am 8 weeks. But I took a pregnancy test on February 2nd (a regular test, not an early detection test) and had a very faint positive. Is it possible to detect pregnancy so soon after conception or is my doctor wrong?

The type of log set and burner used determines if it is vented or vent free. The vented gas logs more closely resemble real burning wood by producing a yellow flame versus the blue flame produced by vent free logs. However, they produce that yellow flame because they do not burn as efficiently so vented logs do not generate as much heat and they produce smoke and soot so you will need to periodically clean your chimney. You should use a gl fireplace door insert just like you should with a real wood fireplace to keep the room heat from going up the chimney. If you are looking for a real looking fire then the vented logs are better for that. Vent free logs are the better choice for heating a room. However, there are indoor air quality concerns with the vent free logs so some people recommend you not burn the vent free logs for very long at a time. You should probably research that more before you choose.
