How do i make things right again with him? please someone help i really dont want this to end things?

okay so i promised my sorta boyfriend that i would give him his christmas present when he came over and then when he came over i said id give it to him later cause it was in the back of my moms trunk and i keep telling him that i wanted to give it to him that i wanted to give it to him like christmas eve cause it wouldve been more special...and then like we left my house and picked up our friend devin and we came back so then we hung out for a little so then when they had to leave i found out that there presents werent wrapped yet.. so im like look its not fun if the presents arent wrapped so im just gunn drop it of so itll be special and then he started getting pissed of and yelling saying that i promised and he walked of to his car and i was just like omg i dont know what to do cause he was like you lied to me and i dont care if it was a little lie and i dont know what to do know i dont want him to be mad at me and when he left he just left and burned out of the drive way? and i dont know how to make it up to me i feel like an idiot for not giving it to him then all i wanted to do was just give it to him wrapped and on christmas eve and plus there was something in there that wouldve made me uncomfortable giving it to him woth my friend there so i just dont know what to do should i drop it of at his house tommaro and say sorry or should i give him time did i really do something wrong?
