Can SOMEONE edit this PARAGRAPH for me and make it sound BETTER?? (EASY POINTS)?
The first enacted written constitution was the Articles of Confederation. “Under the Articles, the thirteen states retained their individual ‘sovereignty, freedom, and independence.” Furthermore, the Articles created a national government for the people. This new government would handle affairs concerning wars, foreign affairs and treaties. It consisted of a “one-house congress, in which each state, no matter how large or populous, cast a single vote.” However, as time progressed, the Articles of Confederation proved useless. “Congress has no real financial resources. It could coin money but lacked the power to levy taxes or regulate commerce. Adding on to its ineffectiveness, “its revenue came mainly from contributions by the individual states.”
