Would you lend your BF $5000?

my bf and i have been together for 2 years, i lend him 5000 to get a laptop, airfare to go home, and savings of 2000 for his pocket money to go home, im getting upset, becuase he earns twice as much as me, ( i can understand he pays bills, and send money to hometown), i have a child of my own, and he promises me he will save for us.. he is still paying it back but its been 2 years. Is this relationship worth saving????
