How intensive of surgery is draining a tooth/sinus cyst?

I just scheduled a surgery on the advice of my ENT to have a cyst removed; the cyst orginated in my tooth or jaw (??) but has encroached into my maxillary sinus, creating drainage difficulties and chronic infections. The doctor to be performing the surgery is on vacation for the next couple weeks, otherwise i'd just ask him (and will, when he gets back)....i just want to know, if anyone's had it done before or knows someone who has, what is involved with this sort of surgery? What is the recovery time; how long will pain/swelling persist? Etc....i know this is lacking in detail but this is all the info i really have, so any insight you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
